JUST A FEW OF THE THINGS THAT CONVINCED ME TO SUPPORT THE

"FAIR TAX"

What is the FairTax plan?

The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment.

The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 296) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.

The FairTax taxes is only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.

The FairTax:

  • Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
  • Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
  • Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
  • Allows American products to compete fairly
  • Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
  • Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
  • Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
  • Abolishes the IRS

IF YOU THINK THE GOVERNMENT CAN RUN IT BETTER - You might like to read this FIRST!

Wal Mart

Subject: Wal-Mart Management

You may or may not like Wal-Mart, but...

(HINT - this email isn't about WAL-MART - read thru.)

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the World.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only 15 years.

8. During this same period, 31 supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 Years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I'm complaining, but I am really laying the groundwork for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans...

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Congress:

The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775.  You have had 234 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

Social Security was established in 1935.  You have had 74 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938.  You have had 71 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

War on Poverty started in 1964.  You have had 45 years to get it right; 1$ trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965.  You have had 44 years to get it right and they are BROKE.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970.  You have had 39 years to get it right and it is BROKE.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977, to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before.  You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal FAILURE.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

SHOULD AMERICANS BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT CAN SUCCESSFULLY RUN THE NATIONWIDE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

 The Hair Cut...

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied,  'I cannot accept money from you, this week I'm doing my part to help with the economy and my haircuts are free.'

The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, this week I'm doing my part to help with the economy and my haircuts are free."

The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a  'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to  pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I can not accept money from you, this week I'm doing my part to help with the economy & my haircuts are free."

The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run  it.

THE LAWYERS PARTY

A LAWYER WITH A BRIEFCASE CAN STEAL MORE THAN A THOUSAND MEN WITH

> This is very interesting! I never thought about it this way.
>The Lawyers' Party By Bruce Walker *

The Democratic Party has
>become the Lawyers Party .
>Barack Obama is a lawyer. Michelle Obama is a
> lawyer.
> Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. Bill Clinton is a lawyer.
>John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.
> Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although
>Gore did not graduate).
> Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except
>for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.
> Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:
> Harry Reid is a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.
>
>
> The Republican Party is different.
> President Bush is a businessman.
> Vice President Cheney is a businessman.
> The leaders of the Republican Revolution:
> Newt Gingrich was a history professor.
> Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist.
> House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
> The former Senate Majority Leader Bill First is a heart surgeon.
> Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald
>Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the
> Republican nomination as a sitting president, running
> against Ronald Reagan in 1976.
>
>The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who

>The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn

>The Lawyers Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services

>Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an

> Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial

>We cannot expect the Lawyers Party to provide real change, real reform
>or real hope in America Most Americans know that a republic in
>which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected
>judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most Americans
>grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the
>heels of our defenders. Most Americans intuit that more lawyers
>and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit
>of enterprise in our economy.
>
> Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought
>to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American
>society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does
>not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished
>by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more

>The United States has 5% of the world’s population and 66% of the
