Changing Plans

Fifty-five percent of 2,315 surveyed American adults say their companies modified or reduced  compensation and benefits in the last fiscal quarter, up from 50 percent the previous quarter.

Job Appreciation Depreciating?

Only 39 percent of 2,075 American workers polled feel the economic situation has caused them to appreciate their job more.  That's a significant dip from the 55 percent of workers who felt that way a year ago.

The Greatest Lesson

When 1,400 chief financial officers were recently asked:  "Which on of the following is the greatest lesson you have learned from the recession?"  The top responses were:
  • 27% - Focus more on maintaining employee morale.
  • 22% - Avoid multiple rounds of cost cutting.
  • 22% - Retain enough staff to maintain productivity
  • 15% - Implement more detailed succession plans.
  • 11% - No Lessons Learned

Carrying the Workload

According to a national normative database comprised of 2,400 organizations, 50 percent of the professionals surveyed feel there are enough people available in their work group to accomplish the necesssary workload.

Forty-four percent of 105 employed Americans surveyed say their managers fail to complete their employee reviews on time.

Reinstating 401(k)s

Of the 293 Fidelity defined-contribution-plan sponsors that reported they had eliminated or reduced their employer contributions last year, 44 percent now indicate they have either already reinstated the match or plan to do so over the next 12 months.

Better Late Than Never?

In a new survey of 5,231 U.S. workers, 16 percent of respondents say they arrive late to work at least once a week.  that figure is down from 20 percent in last year's survey.
